Professional Counselling & Psychotherapy in Wicklow & Online
A Safe Space to Explore Life’s Grey Areas
Life is rarely black and white. Even when we wish it were, much of what we face exists somewhere in between — uncertainty, loss, change, freedom, responsibility, meaning.
I offer a confidential, one-to-one space where we can explore these realities together — thoughtfully, respectfully, and without judgement.
Life is about the grey areas. Things are seldom black and white, even when we wish they were or think they should be.”
Issues Often Confronted
Therapy offers space to work through many parts of the human experience, including:
Anxiety and persistent stress
Low mood and depression
Grief and loss
Relationship difficulties
Trauma and its lasting effects
Domestic violence and abuse
Substance use and compulsive behaviours
Sexual and identity concerns
Life-changing diagnoses or illness
Facing mortality and ageing
You will be met as a person, not a diagnosis.
Medical Background & Experience
From Medicine to Psychotherapy
Before training as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I worked as a medical doctor for over twenty years in General Medicine, Anaesthetics, and Intensive Care.
My background in Medicine and Neuroscience helps me understand how mind, body, and lived experience interact. But therapy is not about labels or prescriptions — it is about relationship, meaning, and growth.
Two People Meeting
Therapy as a Collaborative Process
I trained in and integrate three core psychotherapy traditions: Humanistic, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Over time, I have found that a Humanistic and Existential approach most closely reflects the reality of therapy — two people meeting to explore your experience of life, the choices available to you, and how you wish to live meaningfully amid uncertainty.
“Research consistently shows that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes. The relationship itself is the method — the engine of change.”
Confronting Illness, Trauma & Neurodiversity
When facing serious illness, trauma, or living as a neurodivergent person in a world that may misunderstand difference, therapy can help you reclaim agency and meaning.
This work is not about “fixing” you.
It is about helping you live authentically — even when circumstances are difficult.
